Samsung was facing an issue where users who visit the site on iPhone devices were less likely to understand the Samsung ranges, benefits, and finance/trade-in options.

Samsung was facing an issue where users who visit the site on iPhone devices were less likely to understand the Samsung ranges, benefits, and finance/trade-in options.

User research from the Samsung team suggests that iPhone users are resistant to trying other brands due to being embedded in the iPhone ecosystem and lifestyle, but are intrigued by the idea of switching when they learn about SmartSwitch. The heat map data provided by the Samsung team revealed that the main area of user activity was located in the top bar of the website, this information has guided our team in identifying the appropriate location to implement our solution.

Now going forward I haven't done any multi-variant testings or AB testings prior to this, so for me it was a learning experience as I got to know how these tests are deployed and what are the measurements that determine the success of a test.

Having the user research and heat map data, my team and I had a strong understanding of the problem at hand. We knew that in order to encourage iPhone users to convert, we needed to promote the process to make it as appealing and user-friendly as possible.


With this in mind, I delved into Samsung's asset library and found inspiration in one of their latest models. We used this as a mockup, and with the help of our heat map data, we were able to pinpoint the optimal placement for our test on the website. Our solution was taking shape, and we were confident in our ability to drive conversions and achieve success.

To showcase just how easy it is to switch from an iPhone to a new device using Smart Switch, I created a motion graphic that showcases how "easy" the process is. The hypothesis here was that the users were going to be more engaged with the motion graphic as research suggests It draws users' attention to a particular element and also it delights them.

For this test we wanted to try and compare the motion graphic test and hopefully get some insights on which is performing better, so for this one we changed the location of the test to the main landing page and Incorporated a static image in the main hero section. This was a static image instead of a motion graphic that we showcased in the first one. To have some continuity I used the same assets from the first test.

Overall we saw an increase of users switching from 1.58% to 1.67%. In other words, there was a slight improvement in the conversion rate, which is a key metric in measuring the success of these tests.


Also there was an increase of website visitors who clicked on the links and buttons on these tests. Specifically, there was a 3.5% increase in this rate, which suggests that more people were engaging with the website's content and taking action.


The tests made to the website have created a solid and adaptable base that can be further improved upon. By improving the conversion rate and click-through rate, Samsung is in a better position to achieve its goals and have more users switch. Additionally, Samsung can continue to refine and optimize its design and content to further increase these metrics and drive even better results.

Instead of utilizing only a static image to showcase a feature, it is more effective to employ a combination of a well-crafted copy, carefully crafted design components and motion graphics to capture the user's attention and effectively communicate the feature.
